Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Bucha, Ovruch and Korosten have seen the most destruction in a day

During the 24 hours of March 5, the areas that witnessed the most extensive damage to the civilian infrastructure caused by warfare are the city of Chernihiv in the north of Ukraine, the city of Kharkiv in the north-east, the Bucha district of the Kyiv region and the Korosten district of the Zhytomyr region.

Details: As a result of a missile strike on a residential area in Korosten, Zhytomyr region, 1 person was killed and 2 were injured. 10 private homes were destroyed and 1 building burnt down. 5 children were rescued from a basement.

As a result of a missile strike on a residential area in the town of Ovruch in Zhytomyr region, 30 private homes were destroyed, 5 of which totally ruined. No victims have been reported as of yet.

To mitigate the consequences of the shelling of settlements and civilian infrastructure by Russian troops, SES rescue units made 198 trips throughout the day, rescuing 64 people.

Since the beginning of the war, rescue units have made a total of 2,200 trips to mitigate the consequences of the shelling of settlements and civilian infrastructure by Russian troops, rescuing 280 people.

The SES explosives disposal teams neutralised 1,329 explosive devices, 605 of which within the last 24 hours.
