On 7 March, 4 territorial defence fighters were killed in the Sumy region after having entered an unequal battle with the Russian troops.

According to Zhyvytsky: "It was an intense and tough day for the entire region and the city [of Sumy].
During the day, our territorial defence fighters joined an unequal battle with the enemy.

Background: Head of the Sumy Regional military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyy reported that after 23:00 on 7 March, the enemy bombed the city of Sumy and the Sumy region from the air, and has opened fire on Okhtyrka.
