Kyiv and Chernihiv defence holds, Russian troops posing as civilians advanced towards Mykolayiv

The Ukrainian military continues defending Kyiv and Chernihiv. In the Chernihiv region, the Russian invaders are hiding military equipment behind apartment blocks. Russian troops disguised in civilian clothes are advancing on Mykolayiv from the Kherson region.

According to the General Staff: "The Defence Forces Group continues to conduct a defence operation within the defined operational zones.

On the northern and north-western fronts, hostilities continue in the Polissya and Volyn operational districts, as well as along the state border of Ukraine and in the settlements of Nizhyn, Ivanytsia, and Trostyanets. The defence of the city of Chernihiv continues.

In the city of Kyiv, the Ukrainian forces are fending off the enemy’s offensive, inflicting fire damage on Russia’s offensive group and firmly maintaining the defence boundaries."

Details: In the Chernihiv region, in the towns and villages temporarily occupied by the Russian troops, the latter continue to hide ammunition and military equipment among residential buildings and in the premises of agricultural facilities, in violation of international humanitarian law.

The Russian military is using a network of medical facilities to provide medical care to wounded personnel.

The occupying forces are disrupting the work of mobile communications towers.

On the Southern front, operational groups of the defence forces are overseeing and covering the state border of Ukraine and the sea coast,protecting and defending airfields and critical infrastructure.

In other areas, groups of troops are conducting a stabilisation operation and performing territorial defence tasks.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is repelling missile and bomb strikes and destroying Russia’s means of air attack. It provides air cover for military groups as well as for Ukraine’s critical infrastructure facilities.

In Berdyansk, the enemy began to distribute propaganda materials aimed at discrediting Ukraine’s military and political leadership.

In the Kherson area, servicemen from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation disguised in civilian clothes are advancing in the direction of the city of Mykolayiv.
