Details: The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine spokesman explained that the process of restoring control over the state border is underway in Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

Border guards are inspecting border areas together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In some areas where roads have been checked, border guards have been able to get to the border line, but this work is ongoing. There is also a danger of mines, in particular, the military personnel have found tank shells near the border. As for the situation on the other side of the border, intelligence is working.

Demchenko's quote: "We haven't seen any equipment in the areas where we managed to visit. But, of course, there is information, especially in the Sumy region, that Russian occupying forces’ equipment still remains close to the border.

In addition, there are some fortifications on the other side of the border which could also pose a danger to the State Border Guard Service should they patrol the border as before.

That is why we are not allowing this, and we are also creating the conditions our border patrol requires, but we want to make sure there is security first of all for our military personnel".
