74% Russians support war with Ukraine despite atrocities committed by Russian army

As of the end of April 2022, 74% Russians support Russia’s military invasion in Ukraine.

Details: According to the results of the poll, as of the end of April, after 2 months of full-scale war with Ukraine, 74% of Russians support Russia’s invasion in Ukraine and the actions of the Russian military.

19% of respondents said they did not support the actions of the Russian Federation.

Meanwhile, 39% of respondents said that they were not following the war in Ukraine.

The majority of Russians said that they were "worried" about the war in Ukraine (82% respondents). In particular, 6% respondents said they were worried about "nazis," 5% were worried that the war might spread to the territory of the Russian Federation, and 4% said they were worried about the sanctions [against Russia].

68% of Russians said that the war in Ukraine was successful and that everything was going "according to the plan" (27%).

In addition, 73% of Russians believe in Russia’s victory, while 57% blame NATO and the US for the destruction of Ukrainian cities and the deaths of civilians.

Levada-Center poll was conducted on 21-27 April. 1,616 respondents aged 18 and over took part.

Respondents were interviewed in person, in their own homes.

The margin of error does not exceed 3,4% for numbers close to 50%; 2,9% for numbers close to 25%/75%; 2,0% for numbers close to 10%/90%; and 1,5% for numbers equal or lower than 5% and equal or greater than 95%.
