Luhansk regional administration: Situation is tense, dead buried in courtyards in Rubizhne

The situation in the Luhansk region is tense as Russian troops try to capture it. On 4 April, a Russian attack near Novotoshkivske, Nyzhnyi, Popasna, and Rubizhne failed; rescue workers and medics in the latter two cities still cannot reach the "hotspots."

According to Haidai: "One of the buildings in Sievierodonetsk caught fire for the fourth and fifth times. Dead people are buried in courtyards in Rubizhne.

This is the same house that Russians hit three times in a week – a regular five-storey apartment building – almost none of its residents remained there as the majority of the flats have become uninhabitable; there are no support-spans in the entrances, sometimes no upper floors. But the Russian army does not care where it shoots. They just need to use up their shells. And if they can’t hit the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they will target the civilian population.

So, the flames engulfed this house for the fourth and fifth times. First, three apartments on the third floor caught fire, then one on the fifth floor."

Details: On 4 April, Russians attempted to storm the area near Novotoshkivske, Nyzhnyi, Popasna, and Rubizhne, "but were forced to withdraw to their positions."

Overall, 7 Russian attacks were repulsed on 4 April.

Ukrainian troops destroyed 7 Russian tanks, 8 units of armoured machinery, and 3 artillery systems.

"The situation is tense. Neither rescue workers nor medics can reach some of the areas in Popasna and Rbuzhne. The shelling is very heavy, street fights continue. In Rubizhne, the dead are buried in the yards," Haidai added.
