Donbas: 15 Russian attacks defeated, air defence systems and nine Russian tanks destroyed

The Russian army shelled towns and villages in the Luhansk region 22 times in 24 hours on 9 May. Fighting continues for Voievodivka, Toshkivka and Nizhnie, and in Shypilovo Russians opened fire on police officers.

Quote from Haidai: "During 9 May, the Russians shelled all possible exit routes from the region's territory on a massive scale. It was dangerous in Bilohorivka and Shypylove. Fighting continues for Voievodivka, Toshkivka and Nizhnie.

Details: The region's towns and villages were shelled 22 times over the past 24 hours.

Housing in both Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk has been destroyed.

Furthermore, in Sievierodonetsk a Russian shell struck the building of the local branch of the National Police, causing a major fire which destroyed the premises and equipment.

The Russians opened fire on police officers as they attempted to survey the destruction in Shypylove, where people remain stranded. One officer was injured.

A Sievierodonetsk resident who suffered shrapnel injuries to his limbs on Monday was taken to a hospital in Poltava.

Russian forces continue to prepare for offensive action on the Sievierodonetsk front.

Quote: "Fifteen attacks by Russian forces were successfully countered in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the previous 24 hours. One anti-aircraft missile system, nine tanks, three artillery systems, 25 pieces of armoured combat equipment, three pieces of special engineering equipment and three vehicles belonging to the invaders have been destroyed. Air defence units shot down 1 Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle."
