Russian invaders have killed 240 Ukrainian children to date

More than 676 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of the Russian Federation's full-scale armed aggression, with at least 240 children killed and more than 436 injured.

Details: Prosecutors stress that these figures are not final as work is underway to confirm them in places where active hostilities are taking place, and in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Children have been most affected in Donetsk (151), Kyiv (116), Kharkiv (105), Chernihiv (68), Luhansk (50), Kherson (49), Mykolaiv (45), Zaporizhzhia (28), Sumy (17), and Zhytomyr (15) Oblasts and in the city of Kyiv (16).
During the recording of criminal offences, it emerged that two children had been killed as a result of Russian firing on civilian vehicles in the Mykolaiv Raion [district] of Mykolaiv Oblast.
It has also become known that a 16-year-old girl was injured during shelling in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast.
On 24 May, a 6-year-old girl was seriously injured and had to have a lower limb amputated as a result of a bombardment by Russian troops in the village Krasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast.
On the same day, a 9-year-old child was seriously injured due to shelling by the invaders in Balakliia, Kharkiv Oblast.
1,883 educational institutions have been damaged, including 178 completely destroyed, due to bombardment and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages by the Russian Federation's armed forces.
