The burial of a Russian serviceman with the inscription "lost in training" has been found near the village of Andriivka in the Kyiv region.

Background: 

  • As of the morning of 17 June, 32,150 Russian troops have been killed in the war against Ukraine.
  • Law enforcement officers continue to find burials, mostly of civilians, in Kyiv Oblast which was occupied by Russian soldiers. The bodies of more than 200 civilians found in mass graves have not yet been identified.
  • In total, the police have found 1,314 bodies of civilians who died at the hands of the occupiers in the Kyiv region.
  • On 5 June, police found the body of a civilian shot by the occupiers near the village of Vyshehrad, Bucha district, Kyiv region. Earlier, on 29 May, the police found the body of a civilian near Vyshehrad who had been beaten to death by Russian soldiers.
  • On 22 May, near the village of Buzova in the Kyiv region, investigators found the bodies of a grandmother and her 27-year-old grandson, who had died in shelling by Russian occupying forces.
