Russian troops make gains in Metiolkine but not Sievierodonetsk – General Staff report

In Luhansk Oblast, the Russian assault on Metiolkine was partially successful. Russian forces have not been able to establish full control over Sievierodonetsk.

Details: On the Sloviansk front, Russian forces used mortars, artillery, and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) in and around Hrushuvakha, Dolyna, Morosivka, Pryshyb, and Chepil. They are attempting to create favourable conditions to resume the offensive on the Izium – Sloviansk front.

Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted significant losses on Russian troops near Krasnopillia when the latter attempted to conduct reconnaissance-in-force.

On the Lyman front, Russian occupying forces deployed artillery near Mayaky.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike on the area around Berestove.

Russian forces continued to systematically fire on the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia fronts in order to prevent units of Ukrainian troops from being transferred to other fronts.

Russian forces used artillery, including rocket artillery, to fire on Zhelanne, Orlivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Malynivka, and Temyrivka.

On the Kharkiv front, Russian artillery fired on Dementiivka, Pechenihy, Korobochkine, Bairak, Verkhnii Saltiv, Kharkiv, Kapitolivka, and Tsyrkuny.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, Russian troops continued to defend their previously occupied positions and to exert fire damage on Ukrainian Defence Forces in order to prevent them from advancing north towards the state border of Ukraine.

The situation has not seen any significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. On the Sivershchyna front, Russian forces continued demonstrative actions in the Bryansk and Kursk oblasts [near the Russian border with Ukraine - ed.].

On the Pivdennyi Buh and Tavriia fronts, Russian forces fired on Oleksandrivka, Novohryhorivka, Shyroke, Kvitneve, and Pervomaiske with artillery.

Russian navy ships continue patrolling the waters of the Black and Azov seas.

The General Staff notes that Russian forces continue to suffer significant losses as a result of their military aggression on the territory of Ukraine.
