Former KGB officer detained in Lviv Oblast for correcting Russian missile strikes

Law enforcement officers detained a Lviv resident who was correcting Russian missile strikes on the territory of Lviv Oblast, in particular, on the Yavoriv test site, where 61 people died.

Quote from the prosecutor's office: "According to the investigation, a resident of Lviv, being a former employee of the KGB of the USSR, in March 2022 provided assistance to the aggressor state and its paramilitary forces in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine. 

The man, with the help of one of the messengers, passed information to the representatives of the Russian Federation about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Lviv Oblast so that they [Russians] could launch missile strikes."

Details: According to the SSU, the man corrected the strikes on the Yavoriv military range near the border with Poland.

The Zaxid.net prosecutor's office clarified that it was a 71-year-old Lviv resident. In particular, he corrected missile strikes on the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre in March. According to police, the rocket attack then killed 61 people and injured 160 more.

The intruder was detained, he received notice about the suspicion of treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention without the right to bail.

The SSU reported that they also detained two more Russian agents who were correcting the occupiers' strikes on Kyiv and Donetsk Oblasts.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the SSU has reported suspicions of more than 760 Russian citizens involved in aggressive warfare, war crimes and subversive activities against Ukraine.
