Quote from Haidai: "The Russians are storming Sievierodonetsk, there is a lot of destruction in the hromada [amalgamated territorial community] of Hirske.

Rescuers also extinguished a fire covering an area of about 1,000 square metres in Lysychansk. The Russians shelled a bakery which had been baking bread for the locals right up until the last moment. In addition to the bakery, several government buildings and two multi-storey buildings were damaged.

A local resident was injured during the enemy shelling of Pryvillia. She was taken to hospital by police officers.

There is more serious damage in the hromada of Hirske – damage to 16 houses in Zolote and three in Hirske. Six houses were also destroyed in Vrubivka. How many in Sievierodonetsk is difficult to count because there is street fighting there.

However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding their ground. The head of state, who visited our forward positions in the Luhansk region at night, was also convinced of this."

Details: According to Haidai, civilian infrastructure in the Metolkine, Borivske, Ustynivka and Toshkivka districts was damaged after Russian shelling.

Zolote, Orikhove, Hirske and Vrubivka were shelled using mortars, barrel and rocket artillery.

The head of the Oblast Military Administration reported that the occupying forces had carried out an assault in the areas of Bilohorivka and Mykolayivka. The Russians suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment.

Air strikes targeted civilian infrastructure in Lysychansk.

Haidai concluded: "A total of 7 enemy attacks have been repelled in the past 24 hours, with 4 tanks, 3 artillery systems, 8 armoured combat vehicles and 3 vehicles destroyed. Air defence units shot down a Ka-52 attack helicopter and an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Background: On 5 June, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the frontline of the Ukrainian military in Zaporizhzhia Oblast before travelling to the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
