On 16 July, the Russian military fired at eight communities in the Sumy region and one in the Chernihiv region.

The communities of Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillia, Khotin, Bilopillia, Shalyhyne, Nova Sloboda, Esman and Seredyna-Buda in the Sumy region, and Snovsk community of the Chernihiv region came under enemy fire."

Details: The strike with 4 missiles was carried out by an enemy plane on the territory of the Esman community on the morning of 16 July. Then, for two hours, the enemy fired MLRS and tube artillery at the vicinity of the settlement of the same community. More than 40 explosions were recorded. Civilian infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged.

 
 

In the first half of the day, several settlements of the Bilopillia community came under artillery fire. In total, on two occasions, almost a dozen and a half shells landed.

On a further two occasions, the enemy fired 120-mm mortars at the territory of the Bilopillia and Velyka-Pysarivka communities – 6 and 4 parishes, respectively – and 10 parishes with 82-mm mortars on the territory of the Krasnopillia community.

14 MLRS shells exploded on the territory of the Nova Sloboda community.

During the day, Russia shelled the Shalyhyne community three times with self-propelled artillery, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.

In the area around the Seredyno-Buda community, the enemy fired twice, using 120 mm mortars, heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launchers.

In the late afternoon, the invaders opened fire with small arms on the territory of the Khotin community.

The amalgamated territorial community of Snovsk in the Chernihiv region was shelled by the occupiers with tube artillery; border guards recorded 12 explosions.

In addition, on the territory of the Bilopillia and Velyka-Pysarivka communities, the enemy conducted aerial reconnaissance using a reconnaissance aircraft.

The State Border Guard Service notes that the enemy is actively using UAVs and electronic warfare equipment on all fronts.

Meanwhile, the Defence Forces continue to defend the country from the Russian invaders.
