Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, reports that Russian attempts to advance to the administrative borders of Luhansk Oblast in order to mount an offensive on Donetsk Oblast have once again been thwarted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Quote from Haidai: "Russian forces were attempting to advance to the administrative border of Luhansk Oblast from three directions, but retreated on all of them. The land around those villages and towns [where hostilities are taking place] resembles a planet with numerous craters; they are hit by shells almost every minute.

Over the course of the past 24 hours, the enemy launched three missiles and conducted three mass artillery attacks and two extended mortar attacks.

The Russians have also attempted to mount a tank offensive three times."

Details: Haidai said that the Russian occupying forces still intend to mount an offensive on some of the big cities in Donetsk Oblast, but have so far been held back – "frozen" – in Luhansk Oblast: "They’re dying before they can reach the neighbouring Oblast."

"They are attacking from several directions at once in an attempt to disperse our defence. They have not been successful: on 24 July, they once again retreated with losses, for example on the Verkhnokamianka – Verkhnokamianske, Bilohorivka – Verkhnokamianske, and Verkhnokamianka – Ivano-Dariivka (in Donetsk Oblast) axes," the head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration said.

He added that on all these axes the Russians "have not only failed to advance but have sustained losses: their soldiers will forever remain on Ukrainian land."

The Russians are attacking Ukrainian towns and villages using fighter jets, rocket and tubed artillery, and drones.

Haidai emphasised that Luhansk Oblast has been fighting against the Russian invasion for six months straight.

Quote from Haidai: "The Russians were intending to conduct a short-term war and thought Ukraine would quickly surrender, but over the course of over 150 days they have either captured Bilohorivka in an attempt to improve their tactical positions, or withdrawn from it. This is not what ‘the world’s second army’ was dreaming about. The Armed Forces of Ukraine put a stop to their ambitious goals."
