Security Service of Ukraine captures informant who "leaked" positions Ukrainian Armed Forces to Belarusians

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained an informant in Rivne Oblast who passed on information about Ukraine Armed Forces to Belarusian law-enforcement officers.

Details: Ukrainian special services have exposed a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast who was collecting information about the location of checkpoints, the deployment and movement of Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen and equipment, as well as other units in the western regions of Ukraine. According to the Security Service, he was particularly interested in fortifications in the border regions.
The informant passed the data collected on to Belarusian law-enforcement officers during an illegal border crossing. Special services are currently checking whether there were other cases of the man's cooperation with Belarusian law-enforcement agencies. He faces 5 to 8 years in prison.
Quote from the Prosecutor General's Office: "A resident of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast was reported on suspicion of spreading information about the location of Ukrinian Armed Forces facilities and their identification on the ground, when such information was not available in the public domain (Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)."
