The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has stated that Russian diplomats are complicit in war crimes in Ukraine and must be held accountable.

European Pravda reports that Oleh Nikolenko, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, has stated this on Twitter.

"Read this when they tell you Russia must not be isolated.

There is no difference between Russian diplomats calling for the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war and Russian troops doing it in Olenivka.

They are all ACCOMPLICES in these war crimes and must be held accountable," Nikolenko wrote.

As reported, the Russian Embassy in the UK has tweeted that the killing of the soldiers of the Azov Regiment was justified and that the Azov fighters "deserve a humiliating death".

Twitter has flagged the post as violating the platform’s hate speech rules, but has decided to keep it openly accessible "in the interest of the public".

On the morning of 29 July, Russian-aligned propaganda media reported the shelling of a prison camp in Olenivka, Donetsk Oblast, where Ukrainian prisoners of war are being held. Russia has claimed that at least 53 prisoners had been killed.

The General Staff of Ukraine has denied the accusations of the Russian Federation that the attack was carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the General Staff, Russia had shelled the prison camp to cover up the torture and murders of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
