Details: The occupiers were identified thanks to the phone that they left behind as they were retreating from the Kyiv region. The occupiers had stolen it from a local resident and took selfies with it.

According to the website "Vazhnie Istorii", among those who committed atrocities are Daniil Frolkin, Dmitri Danilov, Ruslan Glotov, Ivan Shepelenko.

It was Frolkin who in June was accused of killing an innocent civilian in Andriivka by the General Prosecutor’s office. The journalists found Frolkin and interviewed him.

Quote: "I, a serviceman of the military unit number 51460, corporal Daniil Frolkin, confess to all the crimes committed by me in Andriivka: to shooting civilians, robbing civilians, taking their phones away from them and also to the fact that our command doesn’t give a s**t about the soldiers and all the infantry which fights at the frontline."

More details: The occupier accused his commanders of leading their soldiers to death without conducting proper reconnaissance. He claims that it was lieutenant colonel Prokurat, deputy brigade commander, who was giving orders about shooting civilians.

A journalist specified what Frolkin means by confessing to "shooting civilians".

He told her that in March commanders asked him and a few more privates to escort them during the search in three residential houses in Andriivka.

Quote: "We led them into the three houses, they showed us around the houses. The photos in the houses were not of them so the houses didn’t belong to them. The third lived in some shack. They had a wad of cash: hryvnias, dollars, other s**t. Alexander Prokurat, a lieutenant colonel who was with us, took the money. He gave us the rest – documents, phones, and told us: ‘Get rid of them.’ That’s it, I left and got rid (of one of them)."

Background: On 17 July "Slidstvo. Info" in its investigation reported that a Russian occupier stole a phone from a civilian in the Kyiv region and took a lot of private photos with it.

The occupier lost the phone during redeployment. The photos found in the device’s memory helped identify the perpetrator. He turned out to be Daniil Frolkin, a 20-year old soldier of the 64th motorised rifle brigade.

Frolkin was identified by Vasyl Tsaryk, resident of the Andriivka village, where the occupier had committed atrocities in March of 2022. Tsaryk witnessed how Frolkin killed another villager.
