The temporary commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet claims it will soon be replenished with new warships

Viktor Sokolov, the acting Commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation said that this year, the fleet will be replenished with new weapons, including 12 ships and vessels.

Background: Sokolov was appointed acting commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation on 10 August. Previously, he held the position of head of the Naval Academy of the Russian Federation named in honour of Admiral Kuznetsov.
