The Armed Forces of Ukraine cross the Oskil river and took its left bank under control – StratCom

Since Saturday, the Ukrainian crossed the Oskil river in the Kharkiv region and now control not only the right but also the left bank of the river.

Background: At the beginning of September, the Armed Forces of Ukraine started the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region. On 11 September Oleksii Reznikov, the Minister of Defence, reported that the Defence Forces of Ukraine approached the Oskil river and continued to advance in Kharkiv Oblast.
On 12 September analysts of the Institute of Studies of War confirmed that the Ukrainian forces liberated almost all territory of Kharkiv Oblast very quickly. Russian sources and military bloggers recognized the Oskil river (which flows through Kupiansk and Izium) as the new frontline.
