Details: The Russian authorities have published the first sham referendum "results", showing how people voted at "polling stations" on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Apparently, according to the results after 14.07% of the ballot papers had been processed, 97.79% of people at polling stations on the territory of the Russian Federation voted in favour of the LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic) joining Russia, and 98.05% in favour of the DNR (Donetsk People’s Republic) joining Russia after processing 16.06% of the ballot papers.

For Kherson Oblast, 12% of the votes have allegedly been processed and 97.47% are in favour, and for Zaporizhzhia Oblast, 20% of the ballot papers have been processed and exactly 98% of people are in favour.

The Russian occupiers also claim that after the sham referendum, they will attempt to occupy the entire territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Background:

On 7 August, President Zelenskyy said that in the event of sham referendums being held in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine, any possibility of negotiations with Ukraine would be foreclosed.

On 23 September, the Kremlin-appointed authorities of the occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson oblasts and Melitopol announced that they had started sham referendums on joining Russia.

According to Russian propagandist media, Russia may announce the annexation of the occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts on 30 September.

The Russian occupiers knew the results of the sham referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine as early as the beginning of September, according to information available to the Security Service of Ukraine.
