Quote: "The enemy is trying to keep the temporarily occupied territories, shelling positions of our troops, focusing the efforts on attempting to disrupt actions of the defence forces, conducting attacks on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts."

Details: There were no changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. The regime of self-proclaimed President of Belarus [Alexander Lukashenko] keeps supporting Russia’s military aggression; Belarus provides their troops with weapons and bases for launching strikes on Ukraine’s territory. At the same time, formation of offensive grouping was not detected; as of 10 October, there is no threat of an immediate attack from the territory of Belarus.

On other fronts, the Russians continued to fire:

  • On the Sivershchyna front: the Russians used mortars and tubed artillery to fire on areas in and around Yanzhulivka, Tymonovychi, Mykhalchina Sloboda, Virnopillia, and Myropillia.
  • On the Slobozhanshchyna front: Russian forces used tanks, mortars, tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Ivashky, Strilecha, Hurivka, Kamianka, Dvorichna, and Stelmakhivka.
  • On the Kramatorsk front: Russian forces used tanks, mortars, tubed and rocket artillery to fire along the entire contact line, specifically, on areas in and around Bilohorivka.
  • On the Bakhmut front: Russian forces fired on areas in and around Siversk, Soledar, Bakhmut, Mayorsk, Kurdiumivka and Niu-Iork.
  • On the Avdiivka front: areas in and around Pervomaiske, Vuhledar, Nevelske, and Marinka were shelled from tanks, mortars, tubed and rocket artillery.
  • The Russian forces did not carry out any offensive actions on the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts. Russian forces fired on Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Vremivka, Dorozhnianka, Temyrivka, and Chervone.
  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front, the enemy intensified attacks from tanks, mortars, tubed and rocket artillery. On 10 October, Russian troops carried out more than 93 artillery attacks, which is almost three times more than the previous day. Apart from the positions of our soldiers, cities and towns were also struck. Nikopol, Vyshchetarasivka, and Novokyivka came under Russian fire the most.

Quote: "The enemy continues to suffer losses. According to the clarified information, as of 9 October, a Russian battalion tactical group of the 150th Motor Rifle Division that was deployed on the Kherson front and consisted of mostly conscripted soldiers, had already lost more than 520 [people] killed."

Details: According to the information by the General Staff, additional groups of medical workers arrive to provide for the needs of hospitals in temporarily occupied cities and villages that are actively used by invaders.

In a children's hospital in one of the settlements in Luhansk Oblast, Russians occupiers accommodated their injured next to ill children. There are former prisoners among these soldiers, as well as representatives of Wagner private military company. Sometimes, children would not be fully cured but still were released from the hospital so as just to free beds.

"At the same time, the enemy [forces] keep taking cover behind the population of temporarily occupied territories [,using them as] human shield[s]. Thus, soldiers from units of the Russian occupation forces are accommodated in separate educational establishments in Yasynuvata district in Donetsk Oblast with the education process going on simultaneously," the General Staff stated.

Over the current day, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian attacks in areas of Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Mayorsk, Soledar, and Pervomaiske.

While repelling Russian air attacks, Ukrainian combat aircraft have launched five of their own air strikes over the current day. They hit three clusters of weaponry and military equipment, as well as two anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery units hit one command post, three points of concentration of Russian military personnel, weaponry and military equipment, and one S-300 surface-to-air missile launcher.

This is the 229th day of Ukraine confronting the Russian full-scale invasion.
