The Tver Regional Court of Moscow has sentenced Anton Usov, the resident of the Russian  capital to 15 days of arrest and a fine of 50,000 rubles, who allegedly listened to Ukrainian music in the Russian capital.

Details: The Muscovite was found guilty of disobeying police (Article 19.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and discrediting the Russian armed forces (Article 20.3.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

He was detained on the afternoon of 12 October by road patrol service officers: the reason for this was that Usov was allegedly listening to Ukrainian music in his car.

The man was taken to the Kitay-Gorod Police Department, where two reports were drawn up against him.

After the trial, he was sent to Mnevniki detention centre to serve his time there.

At the same time, Usov is a single father. He has four children under the age of 18, and his wife is not the legal guardian of these children.

Background: Earlier, in Russia-annexed Crimea, there were cases of criminal responsibility for public performance of Ukrainian songs at weddings, and attempts to recognise public performance of old Ukrainian folk song Oi u luzi chervona kalyna ("Oh, a red kalyna bent down low in a meadow") as an act of extremism.
