General Staff report new Russian losses: 320 military personnel, 8 tanks, air defence system

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have killed some 320 Russian invaders, destroyed 8 tanks, 10 artillery systems, one air defence system and 17 operational-tactical drones.

Details: The Russian forces have suffered the greatest losses on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts.
Details: Total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February and 17 October 2022 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.]:
- 65,320 (+320) military personnel;
- 2,537 (+8) tanks;
- 5,205 (+12) armoured combat vehicles;
- 1,599 (+10) artillery systems;
- 366 (+1) multiple-launch rocket systems;
- 187 (+1) air defence systems;
- 268 (+0) fixed-wing aircraft;
- 242 (+0) helicopters;
- 1,241 (+17) operational-tactical UAVs;
- 316 (+0) cruise missiles;
- 16 (+0) ships/boats;
- 3,969 (+10) vehicles and tankers;
- 144 (+1) special vehicles and other equipment.

Meanwhile, early on 17 October, Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force of Ukraine, reported that, 26 Iranian-made drones Shahed-136 had been destroyed in Ukraine’s south over the previous night alone.
