Details: The attack was carried out on Thursday at approximately 23:00. Six explosions rang out.

Apparently, Russian military equipment and soldiers being actively moved by the invaders to the left bank of Kherson Oblast were using the bridge crossing at the time.

Local public social media pages posted that seven ambulances were heading in the direction of the bridge. It is possible that there are casualties.

Sergey Aksyonov, the head of the Russian occupation government in Crimea, and Sergey Kirienko, Deputy Head of the Administration of Russia’s President, inspected the Antonivka Bridge and the bridge crossing shortly before this, on 19 October 2022.

Occupier-controlled media outlets reported that there had been "an attack on civilians" who allegedly refused to move to the left bank. However, the strike on the bridge and the crossing, according to the posts, happened during the curfew, which is in place from 22:00 to 05:00 in Kherson. That is, the civilians could not have been near the crossing at the time. Moreover, in an evacuation notice, the Kherson River Port is indicated as a gathering place

According to witnesses, lorries under military guard were moving over the crossing on 19 and 20 October. It is likely that they were taking away looted property.

Earlier, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had stated that the Russian occupiers had mined the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam and were planning a disaster of monumental proportions.
