As a result of rocket strikes in Rivne Oblast, there was damage to the energy system as well as civilian infrastructure.

Details: The Head of the Rivne Oblast Military Administration has published a photo of the fire at a local energy facility.

Koval has reported that, as a result of the strikes in Oblast, there were no casualties.

However, "there is destruction of civilian targets, both private houses and administrative buildings," he noted.

Koval later reported that nine buildings were damaged as a result of the rocket strikes on the Rivne district. These are residential, commercial and administrative buildings. Repairs to roofs and windows are ongoing.

At the same time, Oleksandr Tretiak, the Mayor of Rivne, has said that work to restore the electricity supply is ongoing in the city, and water will be temporarily supplied with low pressure until the electricity supply is fully restored.

Background:

  • On Saturday [23 October], the Russians again carried out a massive missile strike on energy facilities in various Oblasts of Ukraine. In particular, strikes on the critical infrastructure targets of Rivne were reported.
  • According to information from the Office of the President of Ukraine, Russian missile attacks left 1,451,603 Ukrainians without electricity throughout the country.
  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that since the night of 22 October, Russians have fired 36 missiles at Ukraine; most of these were shot down.
