Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, insists that Russia is not running out of weapons - on the contrary, the number of weapons is increasing.

Quote from Medvedev: "Reading the enemy's analytics, I have repeatedly come across the assertion that military equipment and in-demand weapons will soon run out in Russia. As if we have used them all up."

Details: According to Medvedev, on the contrary, the production of weapons and special equipment is increasing "manyfold" in every area, from tanks and guns to missiles and drones. "Just you wait!" he added.

Medvedev also said he had inspected the production of tanks at Uralvagonzavod [a Russian corporation engaged in the development and production of military equipment - ed.] and discussed how to speed up the supply of equipment to the troops for the war against Ukraine.

He made it clear that criminal liability awaits those who fail to fulfil the state order for the production of weapons.

Background:

  • According to British intelligence, Russia is increasingly sourcing weaponry from other heavily sanctioned states like Iran and North Korea as its own stocks dwindle.
  • In September, at a meeting on the development of the military-industrial complex, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the military-industrial complex to ensure the supply of "means of destruction" to troops and to analyse the Western weapons being used in Ukraine.
