Occupiers hide in hospitals, schools and business centres in Donetsk

The Russian invaders are redeploying their troops to schools, kindergartens, business centres and supermarkets in Donetsk Oblast in order to hide behind local residents and limit the actions of Armed Forces of Ukraine so that they cannot strike the Russian troops.

Quote from StratCom: "Since the Armed Forces of Ukraine know the location of occupation troops and destroy them with high-precision weapons, the Russian command apparently decided to take the advice of the President of the Russian Federation, who had previously said that "we will put women and children in front of our soldiers, let them try to shoot!" Therefore, Russian commanders are urgently redeploying Buryat-Kadyrovite soldiers [soldiers from the republics of Buryatia and Chechnya in the Russian Federation, the latter under their leader, Ramzan Kadyrov - ed.] everywhere they can, to schools, kindergartens, hospitals, business centres and supermarkets."

Details: According to resistance groups, during the period from 13 to 15 October, Russian forces redeployed units of the 106th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.

On 13 October, a part of the above-mentioned brigade was redeployed to Donetsk City Clinical Hospital No. 2, located on Donenerho Street, 23-A. The main units were redeployed to Donetsk City Hospital No. 14 on Petrovskoho Street, 197.

The occupiers understand that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not strike at hospitals, whilst the invaders themselves can strike at Ukrainian cities and villages without hindrance.

The Russians redeployed the personnel (mainly the command staff) of the Kalmius Separate Special Purpose Brigade, military unit 08802, of the 1st Army Corps in the Akula (Shark) business centre at Artema Street, 138a in Donetsk. The Radio-Electronic Intelligence Department of the 1st Army Corps was recently deployed there as well.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the occupiers knew the location they chose: to the right of the Akula business centre is school No. 70, to the left is a residential building, and further on is the Donetsk City shopping and entertainment complex, all surrounded by residential buildings.

"The Russian troops do not hesitate to use schools, hospitals and shopping centres for their cover. But this will not help them, because the resistance and the Armed Forces of Ukraine will definitely come up with something. We must somehow liberate Donetsk from the ‘Colorado beetles’ [offensive designation of Ukrainian separatists – ed.] and the ‘Russian World’ [ironic reference to the Russian government’s ideology of a ‘Russian order’ that includes Ukraine and Belarus – ed.]," StratCom concluded.
