Russia does not let out Ukrainians who have Russian passport

Long queues of Ukrainian citizens who are trying to leave the territory of the Russian Federation have appeared on Russia’s borders with Latvia and Estonia; the FSB does not let out those people who have Russian passports. People are waiting for a chance to cross the border for two to six days.

Quote from the Ministry: "The Federal Security Service is checking the citizens of Ukraine on having a Russian passport in special filtration checkpoints. According to our information, if a Ukrainian citizen does not own a Russian passport, he can leave the country. But if they figure out that he does, that person is not allowed to leave Russia."

Details: According to the Ministry’s data, citizens of Ukraine, who have a registration stamp in Crimea but do not have a Russian passport, are let out.

The Ministry has also added that volunteers help Ukrainian citizens while crossing the border; they provide people with food, water, etc.

Those who do not want to or cannot wait are offered to use a free transfer to another checkpoint.

The Ministry for Reintegration reminds that Ukrainians in a difficult situation abroad or in need of help can call the hotline via WhatsApp/Telegram/Viber: +380 96 078 84 33.
