On 9 November, Sergei Surovikin, the new commander of the Russian occupation forces in Ukraine, announced that the Russian Federation was transferring its troops to the left bank of the Dnipro, which means that the Russians were leaving Kherson.

The Ukrainian President’s Office stated that a significant number of Russian military personnel remained in Kherson – Ukraine saw no signs that Russia would retreat without a fight.

On the morning of 11 November, Russian media outlets published photos and videos of the destroyed Antonivka Road Bridge near Kherson, claiming that it had been blown up by the occupiers when they left the city for the left bank of the Dnipro.
