Zelenskyy was asked whether anyone was pushing him to compromise with Russia.

Quote: "I think that some world leaders, of course, would like to [push Ukraine to compromise with Russia] ... I do not want to give my assessment of this now, it does not matter.

It does not matter to me that someone is trying to push me...

We have already been there [negotiating with Russia - ed.]. There is nothing new for us there, no surprises.

I already know how this story ends. So, I do not want to wait for the ending, because it will not be a ‘happy ending’ with this country, with this ‘neighbour’.

We have to build very pragmatic relations, because they are very dangerous, they are very big. Now we see the results of their policy."

Details: According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine failed to build a strong security system during the 31 years of its independence.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine did not expect such cruelty, bloodshed and aggression from Russia and this, according to the President, was the biggest mistake made by Ukrainian politicians.

The President emphasised that he should not be pushed to compromise with Russia, as he does not want a repeat of the war: "I think one war in this century is enough for Ukraine".
