97% of Russian missiles targets are civilian infrastructure – Ukrainian Defence Minister

Ninety seven per cent of Russian missile targets over the nine-month period of full-scale war were civilian targets. In total, 16,000 missile strikes were recorded.

Details: More than 14,000 strikes targeted buildings, of which 12,000 were in villages and suburbs. More than 250 strikes were directed at transport infrastructure, around 200 at energy facilities, more than 500 at military targets and over 800 at other targets. 

 

Background: 

  • On 13 October, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) unanimously adopted a resolution that proclaimed Russian Federation a terrorist regime. PACE was the first international organisation to recognize Russia as a terrorist state.
  • On 21 November, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly proclaimed Russian Federation a terrorist regime.
  •  On 23 November, the European Parliament voted on a resolution to proclaim Russia a State Sponsor of Terrorism
