Odesa residents will not be notified when to expect electricity supply to avoid tipping off Russian forces

The head of Odesa Oblast Military Administration, Maksym Marchenko, said that information regarding the restoration of electricity supply and repair works in the Oblast will not be available to the public, so that the enemy would not be able to use it for follow-up attacks.

Quote: "The enemy uses any kind of information about the progress of repair works to carry out repeated strikes, as well as to plan new ones, therefore, due to the sensitivity of such information, we will be very limited in making it public.

Please treat this with understanding and trust us. After all, when the situation with electricity supply improves, each of us will feel it."

Background:

  • Energy infrastructure facilities have suffered significant destruction, and thousands of households have been left without electricity as a result of an attack by Russian kamikaze drones in Odesa Oblast during the night of 9-10 December.
  • The Office of the President stated that it would take more than usual to restore electricity supply in Odesa.
