The Belarusian prosecution claims that the Ukrainians collected data on military equipment and facilities in Belarus on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the indictment under Art. 358.1 of the Criminal Code (spying activity), they allegedly collected data on military equipment and facilities in Belarus on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine since 2018.

The Ukrainians were detained at the Makrany checkpoint in the Brest district when they were travelling by Lviv-Brest bus.

The date of their arrest is unknown, but it is assumed that it happened in early 2022.

Another man, Ihor Dirko, who had just been deported from Belarus, was detained along with them.
