No Kalibr cruise missile carriers on combat duty in the Black Sea on 18 December

As of 18 December, there are no missile carriers armed with Kalibr cruise missiles on combat duty in the Black Sea.

Background: On 15 December, a Kalibr cruise missile carrier with a total firing capacity of eight missiles was deployed to the Black Sea after a break of six days. In addition, it was reported that the Russian forces have two ships in the Sea of Azov, nine ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including five Kalibr carriers, with a total firing capacity of 72 missiles.

On 16 December, Russian troops launched a large-scale missile attack on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. The occupiers deployed 70 cruise and four guided missiles; Ukraine’s air defence forces shot down 60 cruise missiles. Several energy infrastructure facilities and residential buildings in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts were damaged following the attack.

On the afternoon of 16 December, a missile carrier with Kalibr cruise missiles on board was still deployed in the Black Sea after that attack.
