British Intelligence reports that holding line near Kreminna likely to remain priority for Russia

British Intelligence has reported that Russia is likely to make holding the front line near Kreminna its priority, given the importance of this area for logistics support for its troops in Donbas.

In particular, it is noted that in recent days, Russia has strengthened the front line in the area of Kreminna, Luhansk Oblast, amid increased pressure from Ukrainian forces.

British Intelligence recalls that Kreminna became relatively vulnerable after the Ukrainian Armed Forces moved westward, through the city of Lyman in October.

"Russia has constructed extensive new defences in the area and will likely prioritise holding the line here. The area is logistically important for Russia’s Donbas front, and it is also a significant town in Luhansk Oblast. The Kremlin claims that the ‘liberation’ of this area is a core justification for the war, " the review says.

British Intelligence has stated that the key factor limiting the offensive potential of the Russian military on the territory of Ukraine is the lack of ammunition.
