Missile that landed in Moldova was fired by Russia – National Security Council of Ukraine

Oleksii Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, has stated that the missile which fell on the territory of Moldova during the 5 December attack was Russian, not Ukrainian.

Quote: "Regarding the situation in Moldova and other countries, I can say that the Russian Federation is flinging missiles around and no country that borders us is safe. I will not say what was going on in Polish territory, but with regard to Moldovan territory, I can say that it was definitely a missile that is related to the Russian Federation.

You can imagine how old the missiles are and what their level of precision is if some of them were ‘born’ the same year as I was. Thank God they [the Russians – ed.] have no cutting-edge missiles, which could have caused us damage on an entirely different scale."

Details:

Danilov noted that the Russians will be held accountable for the missiles that hit Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities.

"Together with the international community, we will make them answer for this at The Hague or wherever the international community deems suitable. This cannot go unpunished," he said.

Danilov is also convinced that "it will not be long before Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine become NATO members", because they have to protect themselves from Russia.

Background:

On 5 December, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova discovered a missile near the town of Brychany, not far from the Ukrainian border. In addition, the Moldovan state enterprise Moldelectrica reported disruptions in the power supply during the attack.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the landing of a missile on the territory of Moldova after Russia's missile attack on Ukraine is further proof that Russian missile terror poses a huge threat to the security not only of Ukraine, but also of neighbouring countries.
