UK also plans to send tanks to Ukraine

For the first time, the British government confirmed that it plans to provide tanks to Ukraine.

Details: A spokesperson told journalists that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has asked Defence Secretary Ben Wallace to "work with partners" in the coming weeks to go "further and faster with our support for Ukraine, including the provision of tanks".

Details: The publication supposes that the tanks in question are Challenger 2, which the British army has in its arsenal.

According to the Financial Times, this will be the first time that a western country will provide Ukraine with modern tanks for intense battles. 

Background: On 11 January, during his visit to Lviv, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced that Kyiv would receive a company of Leopard 2 tanks from Warsaw within the framework of the international coalition.

On 10 January, Tobias Ellwood, chairman of the Defence Committee of the British House of Commons, said that Great Britain must definitely supply its tanks to the Ukrainian military.
