Three Kalibr cruise missiles shot down over Odesa Oblast

Maksym Marchenko, Head of Odesa Oblast Military Administration, has reported that three Russian Kalibr cruise missiles have been shot down in the skies over Odesa Oblast.

Details: Marchenko has instructed the heads of district military administrations to personally convey the explanation of the current situation to all residents of the oblast.

As a result of a Russian attack on Thursday, two critical energy infrastructure facilities were struck and damaged in Odesa Oblast.

There are significant problems with power supply in the oblast now.

Background: 

  • On the morning of 26 January, air defence was activated because of a Russian missile attack. In total, the Air Force of Ukraine reported that the occupiers had launched over 30 missiles on Ukraine. Explosions rocked Kyiv city and Vinnytsia Oblast.
  • Power engineers have implemented emergency power shutdowns in Kyiv city and the oblasts of Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk because of the Russian missile attack threat.
