Russia launches 17 drones and 59 missiles, Ukraine's Air Force delivers 9 strikes – General Staff report

On 26 January, the 337th day of the full-scale war, Russian troops launched 17 kamikaze drones on Ukraine; all of them were shot down, and they also fired 59 missiles, 47 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.

Over the course of the day, the enemy carried out 37 air strikes. 17 of them were carried out using Shahed-136 UAVs. All these drones were shot down. In addition, the Russian invaders launched 59 missiles, 47 of which were destroyed. Unfortunately, there are hits on civilian facilities and casualties among civilians.

In addition, the invaders carried out 53 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems."

On the Lyman and Avdiivka fronts, the Russians conducted unsuccessful actions with the aim of improving their tactical position.

The situation on various fronts:

  • There were no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, and no offensive groups of the Russians were detected. Joint drills of the aviation component of the regional grouping of Russian and Belarusian armed forces continue. However, the settlements of Tymonovychi (Chernihiv Oblast), Pavlivka and Tymofiivka (Sumy Oblast), and Strilecha, Ternova, Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Kolodiazne, Novomlynsk (Kharkiv Oblast) came under mortar and artillery fire.
  • On the Kupiansk front, the Russians fired on the areas in and around Dvorichne, Orlianka, Pishchane, Berestove, Lozova in Kharkiv Oblast; Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Ivanivka in Donetsk Oblast.
  • On the Lyman front, the settlements of Makiivka, Nevske, Chervonpopivka, Dibrova, and Kuzmine (Luhansk Oblast), as well as Yampolivka (Donetsk Oblast) came under tank and artillery fire.
  • On the Bakhmut front, the Russians fired on the settlements of Spirne, Bilohorivka, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Pivnichne and New-York in Donetsk Oblast.
  • On the Avdiivka front, the settlements of Avdiivka, Vodiane, Heorhiivka, Marinka came under Russian fire.
  • On the Novopavlivka front, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka and Vremivka (Donetsk Oblast) came under fire.
  • On the Zaporizhzhia front, more than 20 settlements came under artillery fire, including Novopil in Donetsk Oblast; Chervone, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv and Stepove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
  • On the Kherson front, the occupiers again shelled the city of Kherson and its suburbs with artillery.

Over the course of the day, Ukraine’s Air Force delivered eight strikes on clusters of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as a strike on the position of the Russian anti-aircraft missile system.

In addition, during the day, Ukrainian defenders shot down three reconnaissance UAVs of the occupiers.

During the current 24 hours, Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery units targeted three command posts, a cluster of Russian personnel, a cluster of artillery and two other important military sites used by the invaders.
