Power outage in Kyiv and two oblasts: threat of Russian attack
DTEK [the largest private energy company in Ukraine – ed.] has reported that it has introduced emergency power outages in the capital and in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts due to the threat of a Russian missile attack on the morning of 10 February.

Details: The company has explained that this is a forced preventive step. It will help avoid significant damage to energy infrastructure facilities if Russian missiles reach their target.
DTEK urges Ukrainians not to ignore the air-raid sirens and to believe in Ukraine’s air defence forces.
Background:
- On the morning of 10 February, an air-raid siren was sounded throughout Ukraine.
- Belaruski Hajun, an independent Belarusian military monitoring media outlet, reported that a long-range radar surveillance aircraft and a Mig-31K fighter jet that can carry Kinzhal hypersonic missiles had taken off in Belarus.
- Serhii Popko, head of Kyiv City Military Administration, earlier reported that Russia had deployed several Tu-95 strategic bomber jets capable of carrying cruise missiles. He said there was a significant threat of a missile strike on Ukraine.
- Operational Command Pivden (South) reported that the Russians had deployed three missile carriers into the Black Sea, which could carry up to 20 Kalibr missiles.
