Relatives of conscripts from temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea are turning to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation en masse because of violation of conscripts’ rights.

Details: According to the information from the General Staff, here are the main complaint reasons from the conscripts’ relatives in Crimea:

  • No leaves or unit rotations for more than six months, and there is no future possibility to arrange these for the next two or three months as well;
  • Poor food and sanitary and hygienic conditions, so the relatives have to send food and personal belongings to the conscripts all the time;
  • Officers of Russian occupation forces use their positions for their personal enrichment – in particular, they offer short leaves to privates and sergeants for a bribe worth US$1,000.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has pointed out that the Russian Defence Ministry is not responding to any of these complaints.

Background: The recently conscripted occupiers often refuse to conduct offensive operations in Donetsk Oblast, so they are being sent to continue training.
