Over 600 Russian conscripts brought to Zaporizhzhia NPP

Russian invaders and Rosatom [Russian state nuclear corporation – ed.] continue turning the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) into a military base – there are more than 600 Russian conscripts in a shelter of the plant. Moreover, they have arranged a machine gun position on the roof of the ZNPP's fifth power unit.

Quote from Energoatom: "Russians have arranged a machine gun position on the roof of the fifth power unit and set checkpoints near all entries to overpasses which the personnel use to get to power units directly.

At the same time, a new batch of Russian soldiers has arrived at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. These are more than 600 conscripts from Russia. They have been accommodated in a shelter of the non-standard equipment plant where they are waiting to be transferred to the Donetsk front."

Details: It is also reported that the occupiers continue building fortifications and military constructions near power units of the plant and the storage of spent nuclear fuel, which is absolutely unacceptable.

The occupiers have denied IAEA representatives access to the storage and a platform of the ZNPP.

Energoatom calls on the world’s community to contribute to the withdrawal of Russian soldiers from the premises of the ZNPP and the city of Enerhodar, demilitarisation of the plant and bringing it back it under full control of Ukraine, as the occupiers being present at the ZNPP threatens Ukraine with an environmental and nuclear disaster.
