Defence Forces repel more than 85 Russian attacks in 24 hours – General Staff report

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled more than 85 Russian attacks on 5 fronts on 1 March.

Details: Russian forces carried out 2 missile and 12 air strikes, including the use of 2 Shahed-136 UAVs. These drones were shot down by Ukrainian defenders. The invaders also launched 68 attacks using rocket launchers. Civilians were injured.

The occupiers attacked the settlements of Yeline, Tymonovychi and Berylivka in Chernihiv Oblast, Rozhkovychi, Bachivsk, Starykove, Hirky, Atynske, Stukalivka, Brusky, Volfyne, Hrabovske in Sumy Oblast, and Hatyshche, Veterynarne, Strilecha, Morokhovec, Lukianka, Ternova, Vovchansk, Potykhonove, Komisarove, Vilkhuvatka, Tykhe, Ustynivka and Anyskyne in Kharkiv Oblast. 

On the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensives near the settlements of Makiivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Shypylivka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast. Russian artillery attacks were recorded in areas in and around Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Zapadne, Lyman Pershyi, Holubivka, Kurylivka, Pischane, Kyslivka and Tabaivka in Kharkiv Oblast, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Spirne, Rozdolivka and Fedorivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut front, the invaders continue to advance. They persist in storming the city of Bakhmut. Ukrainian Defence forces repelled Russian attacks near the settlements of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Chasovyi Yar and Bila Hora. In addition, Zaliznianske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Kyrdiumivka, Zalizne and Maiorsk in Donetsk Oblast came under Russian fire.

On the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk fronts, Russian forces continued to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops and conducted several unsuccessful offensive operations near the settlements of Kamianka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Neveselske, Marinka and Pobieda. They shelled the settlements of Vesele, Orlivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Netailove, Pervomaiske, Neveselske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Neskuchne and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk Oblast with artillery and mortars. 

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts, the invaders are defending, and in some areas they are trying to create conditions for going on the offensive. 

The occupiers attacked the settlements of Vremivka, Zelene Pole, and Novopil in Donetsk Oblast, Olhivske, Huliaipilske, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv and Novoavdiivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Illinka, Marhanets and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and also Zmiivka, Mykolaivka, Antonivka, Zelenivka and Komyshany in Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force has carried out 11 strikes on areas where the occupiers were concentrated, and Rocket Forces and Artillery have hit 9 clusters of Russian manpower and Russian weapons and military equipment, as well as two anti-aircraft missile system positions, an electronic warfare station and an ammunition depot.
