Zelenskyy points out to Europe five reasons for war's prolonging

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the European Council and listed five key dangers that are prolonging the war in Ukraine.

Details: Firstly, according to the head of state, there should be no delay  in the transfer of weapons to our soldiers that can protect Ukrainians from terror. First of all, long-range weapons.

Secondly, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the decision on MiGs for Ukraine because it will significantly strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian sky, but stressed that "we need modern aircraft".

Third: There cannot be even a slight hint of delaying decisions on sanctions. Moreover, there must be no slackening of sanctions, especially under the manipulative cover of food security. Strong sanctions give security, and the easing of sanctions is an invitation to new crises, the president emphasises.

Fourth: Ukraine has been talking about organising the Peace Formula Summit for a long time. Everyone is well aware that under the current circumstances, many leaders will unfortunately not be able to come to Ukraine. So, it is possible to organise the Summit in one of the world's capitals – in one of the European capitals. "Wouldn't this add to Europe's global strength? It definitely will" Zelenskyy said.

Fifth: It is critical that the rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU not be delayed. Ukraine is prepared to make a decision to begin EU accession negotiations this year. The same readiness is required from every leader in Europe.
