Odesa's beaches have been declared unsuitable for swimming due to a significant deterioration in the water condition, and the city administration is not considering the opening of beaches at the moment.

According to the city council, swimming is dangerous to the health of citizens.

From now on, swimming at the beaches of Odesa is prohibited.

This decision was made at an extraordinary meeting of the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies on 17 June.

For reference: Swimming has been banned at all beaches in Odesa since the start of the full-scale war due to the mine danger.

Meanwhile, in May, Odesa issued an order to prepare access to certain beaches under martial law. The final decision to open the beaches was promised to be made in early May.

The water in Odesa is now heavily polluted due to the Russians' blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, and the decision to open the beaches is now irrelevant.
