Ukrainska Pravda’s source says the Security Service of Ukraine arranged this "bavovna" for the Russians. [Bavovna is a Ukrainian word for cotton; this is a reference to how Russian propaganda, initially refusing to use the word ‘vzryv’ (explosion), used ‘khlopok’ (a bang) instead. However, ‘khlopok’ also means cotton, and this has since become a meme – ed.]

Quote: "The occupiers brought ballot papers here over a 10-day period during remote ‘voting’ from all settlements of Blahovishchenka hromada (Blahovishchenka, Ivanivka and Novodniprovka) [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.].

This "polling station" has not been opened and ballot papers filled in at gunpoint have been damaged after three morning strikes.

The information about the explosions at this "polling station" made the "members" of other polling stations in the area quite nervous.

Background:

  • Russia has announced that sham elections to local fake administrations will be held on 8-10 September 2023 in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts of Ukraine and in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
  • Artem Dekhtiarenko, spokesman for the Security Service of Ukraine, said the Ukrainian security service has identified more than 3,500 collaborators and their Russian handlers involved in organising illegal voting and "candidates" in these sham elections.
  • At the same time, Dekhtiarenko said, after the explosions at the so-called polling station in the temporarily occupied city of Kamianka-Dniprovska, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, there are fewer people willing to help the Russians. Ukrainska Pravda’s sources state that the Security Service of Ukraine was behind the explosions in Kamianka-Dniprovska.
  • Local residents in the occupied part of Kherson Oblast are reportedly trying to avoid participating in the sham elections organised by the Russian occupiers.
  • The Security Service of Ukraine is also responsible for the explosions on the territory of the Berdiansk City Municipal Lyceum where the Russians have located one of their "polling stations".
