Alexander Lukashenko, self-proclaimed President of Belarus, has signed a decree prohibiting Belarusian citizens from importing, storing, selling, manufacturing and using drones.

Details: The decree states that any use of civilian drones is only permitted for organisations and legal entities for their "business and professional activities". To do so, they need to obtain a permit from the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus.

The decree also envisages the creation of an automated state register of civilian UAVs.

Residents of Belarus have six months to sell their drones to organisations or transfer them to an "authorised organisation designated by the government" for storage.
