Young man deported from Mariupol by Russians is brought back to Ukraine

A young man who was taken away from the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol by the Russians at the age of 17 has been brought back to Ukraine.

Quote: "This story began in April 2022. 17-year-old Oleksandr was taken from temporarily occupied Mariupol to Moscow as one of a group of 31 children. The vast majority of the children in that group were either orphans or deprived of parental care."

Details: Shortly before the New Year, a public activist who works to bring children back approached the Crisis Response Department of the Ministry of Reintegration, and afterwards, Oleksandr arrived back in Ukraine. The young man is now in Kyiv.

Oleksandr is the fifth child from this group whom they have managed to get back.
