White House concerned over reports of potential phone calls between Trump and Putin
The White House has no confirmation of phone calls between former president Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, but this information is raising concerns.

Quote: "We’re not aware of those calls. I certainly can’t confirm any of those calls from here."
"But if it is indeed true, are we concerned? Do we have serious concerns? Yes, if it is true... especially when we know the former president was lobbying against more aid to Ukraine to defend themselves against Russia’s aggression."
Details: The information about conversations between Trump and Putin was made public in a new book by The Washington Post editor Bob Woodward, titled War.
Woodward cited an unnamed aide who testified that Trump has communicated with Putin seven times since leaving office in 2021.
Background: In his book, Woodward also mentioned that US intelligence assessed in early autumn 2022 a 50% likelihood that Russia might use tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine amid battlefield setbacks.
