Details: From around 15:00 Bratislava time, Slovak customs reported that the crossing point on the border with Ukraine had been suspended "for security reasons". At about that time, Russian Shahed-type drones had reached far into western part of Ukraine, including the city of Uzhhorod, which lies right next to the border of Slovakia.

It was later reported that the crossing points resumed operation at 16:47. Police said the crossing points were also closed on the Ukrainian side and that the situation is currently calm.

Background:

  • Russian drones also entered Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine. Hungary's Foreign Minister Anita Orbán condemned the attack and later announced that the Russian ambassador was summoned, the first such case during the beginning of the full-scale war.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Russia has launched at least 800 drones in an attack on Ukraine since the start of the day on 13 May and that the attack is continuing.
